Another item we take time to do some direct instruction with at the beginning of the school year is handwriting. While writing is a developmental skill, the students definitely benefit from practicing proper letter formation. Moving forward our hope is that students' handwriting continually improves. We are working on a handwriting book here at school and do 3-5 letters per week depending on our other regularly scheduled curriculum activities. When we complete it, it will be sent home.
