1. Students finishing their google presentations. They will present these to the class. If you child logs into their google account, you should be able to view these at home when they are finished.
2. Compliment books: This is something I create each year for my class. It's a compilation of comments/compliments from classmates to each other. Each child will have their own page in the book with a list of compliments (anonymously) from friends. In addition to this being a lovely community building activity and a keepsake for years to come, it helps further solidify the following first grade skills:
-revising is to alter something already written, in order to make their writing stronger
-revising is a naturally occurring part of the writing process
-a variety of craft techniques to emphasize feelings and actions
-adjectives are describers - adjectives describe or modify nouns or other adjectives
3. Final unit of the year is "From Scenes to Series" Essential Questions:
-How are characters developed across a series?
-What makes an engaging realistic fiction book?
Stay tuned for summer writing tips :0) !!!!!!!!
