This week students have learned to think about using the components of a personal narrative as they create their 'small moment' stories. They are using a visual of a checklist to make sure their stories are the best they can be. Here are the items on the checklist:
I wrote about something I did ___
I tried to make a beginning for my story ___
I put my pages in order ___
I found a way to end my story ___
I wrote my story on three or more pages ___
As you read with your child at home, have conversations about how authors structure and develop their stories. We learn how to be good writers by reading real books and noticing what authors do!
